HomeBase assists communities in carrying out effective
community-based planning to develop comprehensive and
integrated systems of care that will prevent and end homelessness.
A hallmark of our approach is the broad-based involvement
of all interested parties, including mainstream government
agencies, non-profit housing developers, support service
providers, faith based organizations, homeless and formerly
homeless people, and interested citizens. We assist communities
in gathering data on homelessness and existing service
provision, facilitate discussion and decision-making at
meetings, provide information on best practices and program
models, facilitate priority setting and identification
of funding sources, and assist in implementation of the
plans. We also help communities engage in program evaluation
documenting effective practices for use by other agencies.
All of our planning and evaluation work seeks to recognize
and affirm the rights and responsibilities of homeless
people.
