Fund Development & Finance Reform

HomeBase works on a federal, state and local level to expand the resources available to prevent and end homelessness. A central focus of our work in this area is facilitating access to mainstream dollars for supportive housing services, including expanding the ability of providers to capture Medicaid payments for the services they provide and coordinating the use of block grant funding to cover gaps in services. HomeBase also works to reform existing law, such as the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, to make it more accessible to and responsive to the needs of local providers. We also assist agencies in fundraising efforts, including grantwriting and donor campaigns involving local businesses, faith organizations and the general public.
