Internship and Fellowship Opportunities

HomeBase offers undergraduate, Masters of Public Policy or Public Administration, and law students, as well as recent Masters of Public Policy or Public Administration and Juris Doctorate graduates, the opportunity to work alongside our attorneys and public policy professionals contributing to the public dialogue on homelessness. The position is ideal for candidates seeking experience in affordable and low-income housing, anti-poverty advocacy, administrative law, systems design, research and analysis, grants management, and nonprofit and public institutions governance.

Fall, spring, and summer internships, as well as a year-long Fellowship, are available to top candidates who demonstrate academic and/or professional excellence and a commitment to public interest work.

We will be accepting applications for summer 2018 interns and the 2018-2019 Richard Johnson Diversity Fellowship now through January 31, 2018. No late applications will be considered. Please see the links below for more information.


HomeBase: The Center for Common Concerns seeks undergraduate, Masters of Public Policy or Public Administration, and law students for its fall, spring, and summer internship programs. Interns will work with local, state, and federal governments to impact regulations, funding, and programming related to the myriad of issues faced by persons experiencing homelessness.

HomeBase: The Center for Common Concerns seeks recent graduates (Masters of Public Policy, Public Administration, and/or Juris Doctorate) for its Richard Johnson Diversity Fellowship program.

The Richard Johnson Diversity Fellowship was created to open opportunities to racial or ethnic minorities to develop policy and leadership skills in the area of homelessness. The Fellowship was established in honor of long-time HomeBase Board Chair Richard Johnson who helped build HomeBase into an effective national leader, working to prevent and end homelessness, and who promoted efforts to develop a diverse non-profit workforce committed to addressing pressing social issues.
