As a Policy Analyst at Homebase, Miguel works with local Continuums of Care to provide trainings, technical assistance, and support in program implementation and assessment of needs and goals. Miguel has experience with program design, implementation, and evaluation; data collection, analysis, and visualization; policy analysis; and providing direct social services. Before joining Homebase, Miguel worked as a researcher in the fields of child welfare and juvenile probation. Prior to that, he worked for various non-profit and government agencies and in different capacities, such as social worker, program specialist, and instructor. Miguel has worked with diverse populations, such as families involved in the child welfare system, domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, brain injury survivors, children of migrant families, among others. Miguel holds an MSW with an emphasis in Management & Planning from UC Berkeley. Prior to obtaining his MSW, Miguel pursued an MA in Latin American & Iberian Studies from UC Santa Barbara, where he carried out research on racial portrayals through the media in his home country, Peru. In his spare time, Miguel enjoys playing cajon with his band and watching or playing soccer.
